Before and After School Procedures

Stott parents and staff are committed to keeping our students safe!

BEFORE SCHOOL

  • At Stott, students can arrive for school no earlier than 7:35 when adult supervision is available outside.  There is no adult supervision before this time!
  • School starts at 7:40.
  • The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
  • If students arrive after 7:45, they will receive a tardy pass before being sent to class.

BREAKFAST

  • Breakfast is in the cafeteria from 7:25-7:40.
  • Students eating breakfast go to the cafeteria within that time span to eat and need to stay there until school starts at 7:40.
  • Adult supervision is only available in the cafeteria at that time.  Students should not be wandering the halls.

HUG-AND-GO ZONE

  • Please use the double lanes to drop off and pick up students.
    • when using the lane next to the curb, children may exit from both sides of the car
    • when using the lane closest to the parking lot, children must exit the passenger side only
    • children exiting onto the center painted lane should walk forward to the crosswalk then over to the sidewalk
    • children should not cut between cars
  • Both lanes should move as quickly and cautiously as possible. Parents please stay in your vehicle. Vehicles need to cautiously drive through the curved lane (to the left of the bus zone) and exit the parking lot.
  • Please do not park in the bus loading zone or fire lane at any time. You may pull ahead of the bus lane to drop off or pick up your child.
  • If parking your car to walk your child into school, be sure to use one of the two crosswalks marked by a green safety kid. Children may not walk through the parking lot, without an adult, before or after school.

AFTER SCHOOL

  • Adult supervision after school is from 2:35 to 2:45 pm. We respectfully ask that parents arrive before 2:45 to pick up students. Children walking home need to do so right after they are dismissed. Any students not picked up by 2:45 will be brought inside to the main office to wait for parents.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

  • To ensure even greater safety, we can always use adult volunteers to help with before and after school drop-off and pick-up. If you are interested, or you know someone who might be, please contact Caryn McCormick at [email protected].
